Chelsea jumped into third place in the Premier League after their 3-2 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

The Blues make another away trip at the weekend when they take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Blades have slipped behind in the race for the Champions League places, however they will be keen to try to put some pressure on some of those above them once again.

But will Frank Lampard have a full squad to pick from? Here is the latest Chelsea news.

N’Golo Kante

Having made an excellent restart to the season in the defensive midfield position, it was a big blow to see the World Cup winner hobble off against Watford.

The 29-year-old has struggled with injuries over the course of the 2019/20 campaign and has missed much of the season.

Kante suffered a hamstring injury and missed the win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

The midfielder is not expected to be back in time to face Sheffield United, with Lampard hoping to have him back in time for Norwich City next week.

Mateo Kovacic

Kovacic picked up an Achilles’ tendon issue in the defeat to West Ham and has missed both the wins over Watford and Palace.

The Croatian has been excellent this season for the Blues in the heart of the midfield and been an important part of Lampard’s squad.

The good news for the Blues boss is that the injury is not expected to be a serious one.

Lampard is hoping that Kovacic is going to be part of the squad which makes the trip up north this weekend.

Fikayo Tomori

The centre-back has not been available for the Blues since the restart after picking up an injury during the short ‘pre-season’.

While 22-year-old did return to some training, Lampard confirmed on Monday that he suffered a set-back and wasn’t available to play.

Tomori is also not expected to be available for the game this weekend, with more hopes he will be training ahead of the Norwich game.
