Injured Chelsea duo Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz posted a pre-match photograph in support of their teammates against Juventus.
The Blues’ pair were restricted to the sidelines against the Italian giants through injury.
The Croatian schemer was still recovering from the hamstring injury that he suffered in training and still seems some way off of a return.
Talking to the media ahead of the weekend’s clash with Leicester City, Tuchel said: “Mateo needs other days before he can return to team training, so he will miss some more matches.”
Meanwhile, Havertz was ruled out of the tie against Juventus with a similar problem having been withdrawn in the 4-0 win against the Foxes.
The Chelsea boss continued: “We had to take Kai off because of hamstring problems. He felt a bit of tension in the hamstrings, so we took him off and we have some doubts with him. We need to check and see if he can train without any problems, so this is more or less the question mark.”
Whilst the two could not take to the pitch on Tuesday against the Old Lady, that did not stop them from making the journey to Stamford Bridge to lend their support to their teammates.
In a post published on Kovacic’s official Twitter account, the Croatian wrote “Let’s go Chelsea!”, alongside an image of the two sitting together in the Stamford Bridge stands.
It remains to be seen when the two will return to action but they will certainly be delighted to have seen their teammates secure their place in the Champions League last-16.
All Chelsea needed to progress to the next round was a point but they got even better than that against Juventus as goals from Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner secured a thumping win.
