Opinion: Chelsea being linked to new attackers could suggest uncertain futures for some

You may have noticed that despite it not being a current transfer window or even very close to one opening, Chelsea are continuing to be linked to a number of potential new players regardless.

This is nothing new of course, transfer stories will forever be circulating it is just part of the game. But what is interesting is that Chelsea have been linked with a number of attacking players recently, which might be worth paying attention to.

We’ve had names come up such as Leroy Sane, Florian Wirtz, Victor Osinhem, Allan Saint-Maximim, and Kinglsey Coman just to name a few, and that has all come in the last couple of weeks from various sources, some good, some not so good.

Usually this might mean that these links could have significance, and if I’m honest, I believe these are the positions we might be looking to address next summer, as well as others of course.

This for me, comes down to the fact that Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, and Callum Hudson-Odoi all have uncertain futures at Chelsea.

Pulisic is massively injury prone and therefore questions have been raised over whether he is the guy to be our creator up top, despite really great form on occasions.

Ziyech just doesn’t look suited to the Premier League and has yet to bring enough to the table, he has also become more of a squad player.

Whilst Hudson-Odoi is continuingly not been given minutes on the pitch by Thomas Tuchel and if he does, it is in his less preferred position at wing back. This has casted more doubts over his future happiness at the club and he could ask to leave if not being used.

I believe Chelsea still need another attacking player that has more creativity, and perhaps more importantly a player who has the ability to beat two or three defenders and make something happen from nothing. At the moment we are missing that type of player.

There are a few of those names mentioned above who could certainly do that, and under the circumstances I could see some of these links growing over this season and perhaps even more names coming into play as well.
