Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain was one that shocked the footballing world last December. After a rollercoaster first half of the season, PSG club officials elected to part ways with the German manager.
Several players issued farewell messages to Tuchel following his sacking. But for Angel Di Maria, he reportedly was more so relieved that PSG opted to end Tuchel’s stint at the club.
As noted by L’Equipe (via Le10Sport), Di Maria was not much a fan of Tuchel over the latter run of his PSG tenure.
The Argentine midfielder had grown tired of Tuchel’s tactical approach with the team and his sheer way of “proceedings.”
More so, Di Maria had further expressed his displeasure with the now-former PSG manager in a WhatsApp group featuring several of his club teammates.
Di Maria did shine under Tuchel for a multitude of key matches, including in several Champions League knockout stage fixtures over the 2019-2020 campaign.
Nonetheless, Tuchel has certainly moved on, which has included leading Chelsea to Champions League triumph last season.
