Chelsea are now prepared to sell Ross Barkley according to Goal, with West Ham monitoring the 27-year-old midfielder.
The Blues man is a transfer target for Hammers boss David Moyes this summer according to Calcio Mercato and The Telegraph.
The Scot needs to bolster his midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.
If West Ham are successful in their pursuit of Jesse Lingard, Moyes will have to switch his attention to other number 10’s.
Barkley is allegedly an option for there Hammers. And we may well now have a chance to sign him.
Chelsea ready to sell Ross Barkley with West Ham hovering
Goal claims that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is open to moving the 27-year-old on from Stamford Bridge this summer.
It has to be said though, the Hammers would surely be better served looking elsewhere.
Chelsea midfielder Barkley is far too injury prone and he just hasn’t lived up to expectations over the past five years or so.
The Blues want around £30 million for the 33-capped England International as well! (The Express & Star).
Moyes should be prioritising a move to sign Matheus Pereira if we fail to land Jesse Lingard.
Unless Chelsea are prepared to sell Barkley for a real bargain, perhaps less than £15 million, then signing him may be worth our while.
Anything more than that, however and West Ham should avoid the Blues midfielder at all costs.
