After spending so much in the last summer transfer window, Roman Abramovich is ready to hand another War chest to land more exciting star next summer.
After dismissing Frank Lampard in January, the Blues’ owner is ready to invest more under the newly appointed manager Thomas Tuchel, to continue the project of growth in the summer.
According to report, he is ready to pump in another £260million into the club, with Borussia Dortmund duo Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho on the Wishlist.
Haaland is expected to be able to leave Dortmund next year when the £65m release clause in his contract becomes active, but Roman Abramovich is desperate and wants the striker ‘at all costs’, which will cost Chelsea close to £100million if they were to sign him at the end of the season.
Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola has already outlined player demands: a five-year deal totalling £78m in wages – the equivalent of £300,000 per week.
He told Kicker: “Haaland gave himself the time to mature into an absolute world-class player in Dortmund. You won’t be able to do that in a year.”
“Because it is clear that if Erling should leave us at some point, then he will only go to an even bigger club, and so many are not considered.
“If you join a club like – just for an example – Real Madrid, you have to be world-class.”
