Four things spotted in Blues training
Chelsea are back in Premier League action this evening, as they travel to Everton, looking to continue their red-hot form.
Prior to the game, Frank Lampard has been running the latest Blues training session – and football.london have spotted numerous things of interest.
Christian Pulisic is looking very sharp, as he returns to full fitness – and with the injury to Hakim Ziyech suffered last weekend – the USA forward could be set to start against the Toffees.
As well as this, Billy Gilmour, who has now returned to training, impressed during the session.
Lampard explains why Christmas will be different
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has explained why this Christmas period will be different for his players.
Speaking prior to the Everton clash on Saturday, the Blues manager has detailed how he will be having conversations with his players about acting sensibly over the Christmas period and to abide the current rules and regulations surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
“I will possibly have those conversations. I’d better read up on the tier system – there are certain factual things about tiers that a lot of us have doubts about,” Lampard said.
“I know the basics and the players should do by now and I will reiterate to them their responsibilities.”
Chilwell ‘surprised’ by James
Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has heaped praise on his team-mate Reece James, hailing him as ‘unbelievable’.
Chilwell – who moved to Stamford Bridge over the summer – has admitted he knew how good James was before he made the switch from Leicester City, but has still been shocked by the 20-year-old’s qualities.
“I knew how good Reece was before I came here but I just wanted to say how much he’s surprised me,” Chilwell said in an interview with the Guardian. “He’s unbelievable, especially for 20 years old.
“He’s a brilliant player. He’s powerful but quick with it. He’s very difficult to play against because of how physical he likes to be against his opponents.”
